Educating, validating, and normalizing grief.
Mending Piece by Piece is a grief education and advocacy initiative founded by Linda Falasco, LCSW, created to educate, validate, and normalize grief through compassionate education, community connection, and meaningful support.
Born from both professional experience and lived loss, Mending Piece by Piece exists to help individuals and communities navigate grief with understanding, dignity, and hope—while reducing stigma and creating space for honest conversation around loss.
Our Mission
Mending Piece by Piece exists to educate, validate, and normalize grief through compassionate education, community connection, and meaningful support—helping individuals and communities navigate loss with understanding, dignity, and hope.
Who We Are
Mending Piece by Piece is a grief education and advocacy platform developed alongside, but separate from, clinical therapy services.
Founded by therapist, author, speaker, and loss survivor Linda Falasco, Mending Piece by Piece bridges the gap between professional knowledge and lived experience—offering accessible education and connection beyond traditional therapy settings.
Our work acknowledges that grief is not something to “fix,” but something to be understood, supported, and integrated over time.
What We Do
Mending Piece by Piece offers non-clinical grief education and community programming through:
Grief education via books, podcasts, and video content
Public speaking engagements and workshops
Workplace and community trainings
Awareness events, panels, and conversations
Community-based grief education initiatives
Our programs are designed to foster empathy, understanding, and meaningful support for those impacted by loss.

Individuals navigating grief and loss
Families impacted by suicide, overdose, illness, or sudden loss
Workplaces seeking grief-informed education and culture
Community groups and nonprofits
Caregivers and helping professionals
We recognize that grief looks different for everyone and honor the diversity of loss experiences.
Our Values
At Mending Piece by Piece, our work is guided by the following core values:
Compassion
We lead with empathy, honoring the deeply personal and lifelong nature of grief.
Integrity
We operate ethically, transparently, and responsibly, respecting both professional standards and lived experience.
Education
We believe informed communities are more supportive, resilient, and compassionate.
Inclusion
We acknowledge all forms of loss and welcome diverse grief experiences without judgment or hierarchy.
Connection
We believe healing is fostered through shared stories, understanding, and community.
Hope
Not the promise of “moving on,” but the belief that meaning and connection can coexist with grief.
Why This Work Matters
Grief touches every community, yet it is often misunderstood, minimized, or avoided.
Mending Piece by Piece exists to change that—by creating spaces where grief is acknowledged, conversations are normalized, and individuals feel less isolated in their loss.
Through education and connection, we aim to reduce stigma and build more grief-informed, compassionate communities.
